Historical heritage

The "Romantic" hotel is located in an authentic mill built in 1841, which for many years was one of the most important symbols of Panevėžys industry. At that time, it was a modern, advanced structure where grain was ground and flour was produced, travelling not only throughout Lithuania, but also to Riga, St. Petersburg, and Liepāja.

Today, the renovated building has retained its massiveness, historical character, and quiet solidity – it is a place where the past is felt not as an exhibit, but as a living, natural environment.

Interwar Prosperity and Challenges

During the interwar period, the mill was privately owned and became an important part of Panevėžys' economic growth. During the Soviet era, the building was nationalized, and production activities continued there until the end of the 20th century. Over time, having lost its original purpose, the building awaited a new chapter in its life.

In 2002, the historic spaces were reborn as the four-star "Romantic" hotel - a place where history was not rewritten but subtly adapted for modern recreation.

The hotel name "Romantic" was not chosen by chance. It reflects not luxury for display, but a calm, quiet comfort that you feel as soon as you step into the inner courtyard. The Nevėžis River flows here, old walls stand, the echo of water and footsteps can be heard, and the surroundings invite you to stop and just be.

The hotel's architecture and interior resemble a cozy, historic manor – not theatrical, but authentic. It is a place where beauty lies in the details, and tranquility in the space itself.
